Hello! My name is Henry and I like traveling, although I generally fear international travel, but I’ll eventually cross that border.
My mission in life right now is to visit all 424 of the National Parks in the USA. (Plus other cool, weird, or fascinating places) I’m currently sitting on about 175 / 424 parks visited. I haven’t written about all of them in the blog, but the proof is in my National Park Passport!
Typically it’s just me and my polar bear hat on my trips so at one point in time I started bringing my lego bb8 along since it makes me feel less alone. Now I also have a BB8/R2D2 (same hat) and a really cool dinosaur bucket hat! Errr I’m not being sponsored by anyone at the moment.
The purpose is always to go on an adventure, but since I didn’t have anyone to take pictures with I’ve been taking pictures of my BB8 lego instead. I LOVE stats so I’ve been trying to include more in my most recent posts. I use google maps to visit everything and I have location sharing on so that’s how I get most of my distance calculations. Of course I use the car odometer as well. I’ve been testing out flying places instead of driving since it would be insane to drive 3,000 miles on a weekend vs just flying and renting a car. However, renting a car / getting an airplane ticket has proven to be quite expensive too.
Philmont Scout Ranch in New Mexico has been my travel base of operations for most of these blog trips while I work there, but I also travel out of my home on the East Coast of the USA when I’m not at Philmont.
